Why am I sore after treatment?

You may ask yourself, why am I sore after treatment?

Remember, nerves have been compressed and inflammation will go away over time. Here are some home care therapies that are helpful for your next steps in your health journey.

Tip #1 | Ice, Ice, Ice

Do not forget to ice your body for 10 minutes, 3 times a day. When icing, make sure to wait an hour apart sessions.

Tip #2 | Do not use heat

No heat on the back except for a hot shower. The American College of Sports Medicine (A.C.S.M.) Guidelines do not recommend heat treatments.

Tip #3 Make sure to stay active

The best physical activity to participate in is walking, a smooth bike ride (such as a stationary bicycle), or walking in a pool which increases lymphatic drainage around the repairing areas.

Tip #4 | Sleep is a must

Don't forget that sleep is essential! Make sure to have a bigger pillow to help alleviate neck pain for a better night's rest. Make sure to sleep on your side or on your back with a pillow propped under your knees.

Tip #5 | Get your vitamins

Take 1500mgs of Glucosamine a day to assist with cartilage regeneration.

Once you take these small steps you will be one step closer to feeling better. Good things take time and don't forget to stay on track with what the doctors are advising you to do in your treatment plan.
